Rainy Day, is a work from Elena Prokhorova’s collection

Elena’s watercolor works have the particularity of putting the characters in the foreground, while not filling the scene, quite the contrary. Her characters are often solitary, placed in front of huge city scenarios, and almost overwhelmed by imposing buildings. Yet with their gestures, they manage to mitigate these aspects: a moment of reflection in front of a port, an umbrella that slips out of hand, or other simple gestures, restore the character of lightness to everything. The use of the watercolor technique adds a peaceful effect to the whole.

Rainy day, è un lavoro Elena Prokhorova
