The sunflowers. It is a particularly attractive subject in the world of art, think of Van Gogh, but Oleksandr succeeded in his intent to be original and give a meaning that goes far beyond appearance.
Just notice the dull and slumped sunflowers next to others well stretched in search of the sun. Unfortunately, the parallel with the effects of war is easy to grasp. The flowers are the young lives that in the attempt to seek the future are sometimes extinguished forever.
