Hannukkah. In ebraico la parola Chanukkah significa “inaugurazione” o “dedica”. E’ una festa che ricorda la consacrazione di un nuovo altare nel Tempio di Gerusalemme, eretto in seguito alla libertà conquistata dagli Elleni, nel II secolo a.C.. Una rivolta armata guidata dall’anziano sacerdote Mattia, permise “la vittoria dello spirito sulla forza brutale, che minacciava Israele nella sua vita religiosa e spirituale”. L’artista grazie alla sua abilità con la computer grafica e la matematica, è riuscito a creare un festival di luci e a onorare questa festa ebraica.

Hannukkah. In Hebrew, the word Chanukkah means “inauguration” or “dedication”. It is a feast that commemorates the consecration of a new altar in the Temple of Jerusalem, erected following the freedom conquered by the Hellenes, in the second century BC. An armed revolt led by the elderly priest Matthias allowed “the victory of the spirit over the brutal force, which threatened Israel in its religious and spiritual life ”. Thanks to his skill with computer graphics and mathematics, the artist managed to create a festival of lights to honor this Jewish holiday.
